ANO — Account and Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your ANO account and data, and what happens when you do. The app is provided by Freops.

Deleting your account in the app

1. Open ANO and go to Settings from the home screen.
2. At the bottom, tap Delete my account and all my data.
3. Read the warning, tap Continue, then Delete permanently.

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

If you cannot access the app

Send an email with the subject "Account deletion" from the email address registered on your account to account@freops.com. After verifying your identity we will carry out your request within 30 days at the latest and let you know.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently deleted from our servers:

• Your account (email address, sign-in details) and profile (display name).
• All chat records you uploaded, the character dossiers built from them, and any chat excerpts still waiting on the server.
• All stories you founded (drafts, lobbies, in progress and finished), with their chapters, votes and invite codes. These stories are deleted for the other members too.
• Your membership of other people's stories and the votes you cast in them.
• Your devices' notification registrations.
• Data the app keeps on your device for your account (copy of your display name, your page positions).

What remains

• Stories founded by others. Stories you were a member of continue for the other members; only your membership and votes are removed. If you appear in a chat uploaded by another user, the dossier and stories built from that chat are not deleted with your account; to have them deleted, use the route in Section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
• System logs. Error and security logs are kept for 30 days, crash reports for 90 days. Usage statistics are not linked to your account and are kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
• Temporary records at AI providers. Providers keep the content sent to them for a limited time to detect abuse (OpenAI and Anthropic: up to 30 days; Google Gemini API: 55 days) and then delete it.
• Backups. Google states that deleted data is removed from its backup systems within 180 days at most.
• General settings on your device. Small records not tied to your account (such as the flag that you have seen the intro) and the temporary copy of the file you imported are removed when you uninstall the app.
• The connection in your Google or Apple account. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can remove ANO's sign-in connection in your own account settings (Apple: Settings → Apple Account → Sign in with Apple; Google: Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services).

Deleting data without deleting your account

• A single chat and its dossiers: the delete icon on the chat in the chat selection screen. Copies in stories already started with that chat remain.
• A draft or lobby: the delete icon on the draft on the home screen (founder only).
• A started or finished story: cannot be deleted individually in the app. Write to account@freops.com to request its deletion.
• Notifications: turn off ANO notifications in your device settings; when you sign out, your device's notification registration is deleted.
