Chat Import Consent

Before you upload a WhatsApp chat to ANO, we ask for your explicit consent on the two points below. How your data is processed is explained in the Privacy Policy; this text only contains your consent.

You do not have to consent. If you do not, you cannot upload a chat or create your own story; you can still join stories you are invited to.

1. Consent to processing of chat content

I give my explicit consent to the processing of my personal data contained in the chat excerpt I upload (my name in the chat, my messages and any special categories of personal data my messages may contain, such as data about health, religion, philosophical belief, political opinion or sex life):

• by analysing it with AI in order to build character dossiers for the people I select, and
• by storing the resulting dossiers (personality, texting style, recurring phrases with quotes, humour, relationships, quirks) and using them to write the story's chapters.

2. Consent to transfer abroad

I give my explicit consent to the transfer of my chat excerpt, the dossiers and the story history, for the purposes in point 1, to whichever of the following AI providers outside Türkiye is in use at the time:

I have been informed of the possible risks of this transfer:

• The Turkish Personal Data Protection Board has not issued an adequacy decision for these countries; my data may not be protected to the same standard as in Türkiye. If I am in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland: some of these countries are not covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or the UK either.
• The providers keep the content sent and their responses for a limited time to detect abuse (OpenAI and Anthropic: up to 30 days; Google Gemini API: 55 days; content found to violate a provider's usage policy may be kept longer), and their authorised staff may review it.
• My data becomes subject to the law of the country it is sent to; public authorities there may request access to it.
• Exercising my rights against a provider abroad may be harder than in my own country.

3. Withdrawing your consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time, without giving a reason:

• By deleting the chat: the delete icon on the chat in the chat selection screen. The chat record, the dossiers and any excerpt still waiting on the server are deleted.
• By deleting your account: Settings → Delete my account and all my data.
• By writing to us: account@freops.com

Withdrawal applies from then on; it does not make earlier processing unlawful. Stories that have started or finished hold a copy of the dossiers; deleting the chat does not delete that copy. To have those stories deleted too, delete your account or write to us. Temporary records at the AI providers are deleted by the provider at the end of the periods above.

4. Your declaration about other people in the chat

This heading is not a consent; it is your declaration. By uploading a chat you declare that:

• I am a participant in the chat I upload.
• I have informed the people whose names or messages will be in the excerpt that their messages will be uploaded to ANO and analysed with AI, that dossiers and a story may be written about them, and that their data will be transferred to providers abroad; and I have obtained their explicit consent.
• The chat contains no messages from anyone under 18.

You can pass Section 6 of the Privacy Policy, which is addressed to them, on to these people.
